The Key To Life? Here Is The Clue

The Key To Life? Here is the clue:
Day after day there`s work to do,
Simple tasks which must be done,
Just plain old work you dare not shun.

If, you want life to be fair,
Some common faults you must beware;
Food and shelter equate work,
If you would eat, you must not shirk.

As sure as dawns the morning star,
Really no matter where you are,
The daily tasks of life must start
And you must have a lionheart.

While you are young and when you`re old
You must face action strong and bold,
And if you do, come sun or storm
You will be fed and also warm.

Think not somehow you can go free,
The facts of life and fate agree:
There is no free lunch anywhere
But everyone must do and dare.

Try Smiling

Try smiling as you pass along
Life`s crowded, dusty way,
A little smile could start a song,
In some sad heart today.

A friendy smile is like a rose
Blooming in its place,
That sheds perfume and warmly glows
In its alloted space.

A flower bud is made to bloom,
A happy face for smiles,
So why not smile away the gloom
From many cheerless miles?

Today, this day, this very hour
Someone may need a friend,
You, like the blessing in a shower,
Can make goodwill decend.

So smile, and smile and smile and smile,
Toss sunbeams everywhere,
Around you, like a south-sea isle,
Have sunshine and to spare.

Just Plain Old Work

Just plain old work, yet must be done,
By you and me and everyone;
Everywhere you are or go
It`s either work or down you go.

This old world is far to big,
For anybody to "renig";
Each one of us must do his share
To keep our planet lush and fair.

The facts are: this ball will not spin,
Lest everyone hold high his chin;
Say, and mean, with all his heart,
"Depend on me to do my part."

Everyone must do his job
And he dares not sigh or sob;
Just plain old work that must be done
By you and me and everyone.

The Spruce And Pine

I am so rich! the spruce and pine
And every thing I see is mine;
I need not transgress or trespass,
I merely glance and see the grass.
The forest grows lush down below
Where mighty rivers wind and flow--
I lift my eyes and all I see
Is mine-- to cherish and is free.

I am so rich! the sun and rain
So bright -- falls down-- again, again;
For air to breathe from day to day
For singing birds along the way,
I am much richer than a king--
I really hear the bluebirds sing--
I am so rich, the spruce and pine
And everything I see is mine.

Never Bow Before The Fates

Never bow before the fates,
Have no fear; sucess awaits,
He who faces life with pluck,
Who looks to work and not to luck.

Give no heed to word or sound
That offers leisure, pleasure crowned;
It`s O.K. to have some fun
But not before your work is done.

Another thing do not forget,
If you don`t want to have regret;
Time is what life is made of
And work will fit you like a glove.

Love and work are of one stripe:
If you love you cannot gripe;
Love and work cannot go wrong,
But will fill your heart with song.

Quitters Never Win

Quitters never win
Winners never quit;
If you mean to do and dare
It takes alot of grit.

Keep moving to the goal,
Always do the job;
Every writ of wisdom says,
You dare not sigh and sob.

Onward! Forward! March!
Down the way you go,
The highroad to success
With your heart aglow.

Have A Merry Heart

When everything is dark and wan,
Be "doggone" sure to carry on;
Do not expect to get somewhere
Lolling in an easy chair.

I say old chap, it`s plain to see
It`s easy just to sit and be;
Nothing is gained to stew and fret
Because of ills one is beset.

It is the common lot of man
That he must labor all he can;
Early to bed, early to rise
Is not the rule just for the wise.

If all your life you do your part
Then you will have a merry heart.
He who rises to each task
In life`s sunshine he will bask.

Stars Will Be There

When you are fearful and distressed
Yet you have done your very best
And you have wept life`s bitter tears:
God will take away your fears.

Nights may be lonely, days be gray,
But stars will be there anyway;
Trusting the Power that made all things,
Yours will be a voice that sings.

If your heart is full of love,
Like the goodness from above
And your faith is firm and strong
Your life is sure to be a song.

Always There Is Work To Do

There is one thing so very true,
Always there is work to do,
Some urgent task to be begun
And in a hurry to be done.

The world is not the place to be,
If you from work want to be free;
The one who gets the most from life
Must rise above all mundane strife.

In the morning at the dawn,
As curtains of the day are drawn;
It`s to the field or to the job;
Be happy, never sigh or sob.

As you go on life`s bright way,
Serve and be happy day by day;
There is one thing so very true,
Always there is work to do.

Light A Candle

Level with your friends and peers
Every day throughout the years
Through each hour of each day,
And your skies will not be gray.

Be you peasant, lord, or king
Music in your heart will ring
And the smile upon your face
Will be seen in every place.

Do you want to make a friend?
All contention you must end;
Fruit cannot grow on a tree
Until fair blossoms first you see.

If you want sweet fruit to grow,
Love and kindness you must show,
Then the light of life will shine
And everything will be just fine.

Light a candle where you are
Not much brighter than a star,
Then your nights will not be dark,
You will be a little spark.

If You Don`t Want To Be A Flop

If you don`t want to be a flop,
You must be ever on the hop;
From crimson dawn to setting sun,
Day after day get something done.

If you don`t want to get struck out,
You`ve got to hit without a doubt,
Your bat must surely strike the ball,
There can be no excuse at all.

To win the race and get the prize,
One must always keep his eyes
Firmly set upon the goal,
Your entire mind under control.

If you want to win your spurs,
See that no mistake occurs;
Your horse will do his best for you,
Also do your darndest too.
If you want success to break,
Sometimes expect your back to ache;
There is no royal road to life,
Expect to face all worldly strife.

If you want to win the day
Do your darndest come what may;
Then when you put your armour down
You will wear a victors crown.

To A Butterfly

Hail, thou lovely, volent sprite!
Drifting over blooming bowers,
Winging down among gay flowers,
Genie of the slight of flight.
Graceful Venus, Aphrodite,
Autocrat of florid towers,
Sparkling like the drops in showers,
Glowing as in glassy light.

Blythe spirit of a leafy palace
Sipping from a crystal chalice;
Flitting over grassy lawn
Robed in light of crimson dawn:
Gorgeous beauty only thou dost give.
For giving beauty, only thou dost live.

Keep A Smile Upon Your Face

Keep a smile upon your face
Help make the world a wondrous place;
You can make a joybell ring,
You can make a bluebird sing.

A smile is like a little star
Shining brightly from afar,
Many stars light up the sky
Bringing joy for every eye.

Smiles are roses by a door,
There for someone to adore;
In a breeze they swing and sway
Bringing happiness your way.

Smiles and stars and roses too,
Make everywhere a wondrous view;
Keep a smile upon your face
And make the world a lovely place.

You Have To Work Or Down You Go

It`s either work or down you go,
To rise again is mighty slow;
Its best to strike a steady gate,
Not go to fast and never wait.

When our forbears were yet fish,
There was more food than they could wish,
But when they crawled out on dry land
They found they could not eat dry sand.

So for a million years or more,
The need for food became a chore;
And now four billion hungry tums
Is even licking up the crumbs.

Old pal I beg you think a bit
The urge for food is infinite;
Thus everyone must do his part
So dire starvation will depart.

There is no use to twist and squirm
Unless you want to be a worm
I say old chap, just strike a stride
Then every homo can abide.

It`s work and work and work and work,
Not even homo dares to shirk.
It`s either work or down you go,
To rise again is mighty slow.

If You Can Smile

When things go wrong, don`t blow your top,
But cool your noodle for a while:
And don`t be like a dad-blamed pup,
Just clear your face and flash a smile.

When troubles grate, don`t ventilate:
That would indeed be folly,
The thing to do is use your pate
And life will be more jolly.

You know old chum, dark days will come,
With sunny times and sadness;
If you can smile while you are down,
You`ll fill your day with gladness.

There "aint" No Use To Fret and Stew

There "aint" no use to fret and stew
Because of cares distressing you;
Why sit or stand around and pine,
Or, God forbid! around and whine.

Surely every man on earth
Has his share of woe and mirth;
Some days are gloomy, some are sad,
But every day can`t be that bad.

Every book of wisdom tells
Deep in the heart are ringing bells;
In every sky a star is there--
There is no need to have despair.

The thing to do is work and strive,
To have where-with to stay alive;
I say to you beneath the sun
You can be sure to have some fun.

So tilt your head, lift high your chin,
Put on a smile, and also grin;
Life is a mix of many things
For every-one who works and sings.

He That Hath Eyes

I never cease to be impressed
The way this earth is richly dressed,
There are so many lovely things,
We all should be as glad as kings.

The point that makes me marvel so,
No matter when or where I go,
I`m sure to see some miracle
That proves the world is beautiful.

Take a snowflake or raindrop
They are from an artists shop;
And when you see a cactus bloom
You know you`re in God`s living room.

I know not what to say or think:
The sky in azure, gold, or pink;
A mountain height is white or green
With every tint and tinge between.

I see the blossoms on a stem:
Cherries will grow out of them,
Gold dust from a goldenrod
Shows that it was made by God.

Beauty rules `till sunset time
When everything sings out in rhyme,
All I can say is every bit
Of nature is by sunshine lit.

Things Can Be Done Tho They Are Tough

If you want to bad enough
Things can be done tho they are tough;
It`s up to us to make things go,
But only work can make it so.

To be asleep is playing dead,
If you want your tummy fed;
It`s up and at em old friend, pal
Speaking really practical.

A goldfish gets food from a thistle--
Man must be on time with a whistle;
O how ducky it would be
If bread grew on a sunshine tree.

A monkey has to climb a lot,
To find some food which he has not;
O what a joke when homo thinks
He can have food with nods and winks.

You know old buddy, this is true,
You must have spunk, or you will rue,
The very hour you were born
And you find out life has a thorn.

O what a paradox is life,
When food and happiness are rife,
Especially when you find out,
Life can be fun, without a doubt.
